I don’t have to use Moore’s polemic as a reference alone; my girlfriend comes from KS and like millions of others, has no insurance. She recently had to undergo an op leaving her indebted to the tune of around $5000, a debt she cannot afford and for which she is now being chased. This op would have been free (at point of source) in Europe (as is all treatment.) Millions of Americans are losing their homes as a consequence of the egregious cost of health. Reform cannot come soon enough.

And we are covered regardless of age and health conditions, I find it acceptable. If I were unemployed and contributed NOTHING, I’d still be covered as a Canadian. You are wrong, this is not a prerequisite. You can go ahead and pay if you want, or buy some insurance, it’d be your headache nobody elses.
I thing you just made my point. The $300 is an ADDITIONAL TAX for some provinces. How can a system sustain itself if you have people receiving benefits and not contributing? By additional taxes! Also, there are options to get free or at least discounted or subsidized healthcare here already, and that IS a fact. I know alot of people that use them. Again, it’s all pointless anyway and I’m not wrong, it’s unconstitutional to force U.S. citizens to enter a contract or risk breaking the law.

Its a fact health care suck in the USA. 32 million people are without. If you loose your job, like millions are doing now during financial crisis, you are fucked. Hell, why you American’s using your tax money on NASA, schools, roads..and more?
Yeah, but I’m not so sure ObamaCare and Socialized medicine is really the answer. I believe that it goes much deeper here in the states. I know a girl in the UK and a gentleman in Canada and they don’t really rave all that much about their health system. It’s a complex problem with no easy solution. “Free” health care is a sham, there is no “free” health care. Pay now, (USA) or pay later (elsewhere), but in the end you’re gonna pay.

I agree, sir. Moore can bitch and laugh his behind all the way to the bank (courtesy of people that buy his movies, tv shows, etc). Guess what? The guy still lives in America! Moore gives a very small piece of a large puzzle, and ignorant people just watch and believe.

Most hospitals have what they call charity care. If you cannot afford a visit, THEY HAVE to treat you!! Also, Fact: Each state has their own income guidlines for healthcare if you make under a certain amount. The alternative is we move to Canada or UK and pay HIGHER taxes and have our fate in Big Brothers hands. Weigh the options? Pay now or pay later. Either way, sir, it’s not free.

Yes, interesting, but may I ask…isn’t there a waiting list in Canada? You need say hip surgery, but a little boy needs one too. You’re either gonna wait or be flown to the USA..so we can’t be all that bad. I tell you stright up, you have a small piece of a large puzzle. Also there are more MRI machines in the state of New Jersey than the whole of Canada? As of right now, Big Brother is NOT involved in our health care.

seen you on here since last year talking about that very point you keep mentioning. If your “girlfriend” got this operation in Europe, she’d have to apply for it then wait to be contacted, correct? I live three houses away from a woman born and raised in England, and she told me point blank, their insurance is nothing to rave about. Also, where do you get this info about “millions of Americans losing their homes because they can’t pay a health bill”? Rumors and misconceptions.
Here in germany we have Health insurance since “Health Insurance Bill of 1883″
and it still works. Not even USA didnt stop it when they were in charge from 1945 to 1949 (Federal Republic of Germany was founded)
50% is payed by the employee and 50% by Employer. In Case of unemployment the state has to pay.
77% of the germans are statutory health insured and 23% private insured.
And it is still working and worked for more than 125 Years. And we have no socialism here, sorry.

Not a fan of this video. EVERYONE NEEDS HEALTH-CARE! IT’S A RIGHT NOT A PRIVILEGE! I’ve been very sick since February, and need to get some major tests done, and can’t get it done, because I’m poor and have no insurance. I’ve been trying to get health care from the state, but it’s taking FOREVER! I’m starting to get very SCARED!

As long as you’re not a junkie or what not you shouldn’t have a problem. The problem is insurance companies, NOT private physicans. Most are more than willing to cut you a break if you don’t have health coverage. M. Moore likes to tell one side, one piece of a large puzzle, the guy likes a rigged game. Best of luck.

america is the richest country in the world, why cant they give health insurance to everyone? great britain is the 6th richest and they get free health insurance for everyone(but some operations you may have to pay for).
